Cyclone Gabrielle update – 13 Feb

13 FEBRUARY 2023

“We are closely monitoring Cyclone Gabrielle as it tracks towards Aotearoa New Zealand.  Forestry contractors have completed as much work as possible to clear potential impact sites ahead of the arrival of Cyclone Gabrielle and were working for as long as it was safe to do so over the weekend and this morning.  Forestry contractors and forestry roading contractors have now been stood down due to worsening weather, as we need to make sure we keep our people safe too.

Our teams stand ready to remobilise again as soon as it is safe to do so, once the worst of the weather has passed.

While we wait for the weather to pass, we encourage the public to put safety first and follow official Civil Defence advice including avoiding beaches or waterways that may be impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle.”
